..::create::..

Hello friends!  I am up on the Paper Issues Blog today with this layout I created for the Split Personality Challenge over in the Paper Issues {Friends & Fans} Facebook group.  For the challenge I chose to split my layout in half diagonally.  Here is a look at my layout :

I used ephemera and several patterned papers from Vicki Boutin's Wildflower & Honey collection and I fussy cut them all! Then I layered them across half of my page to create the diagonal design. I saved a few of them to place in the upper left corner to balance things out a bit.

I printed my journaling using my computer and added black Thickers of a couple of different sizes for my title. Finally, I added some butterflies and splatters for the final touch. Here are a few close ups of my project:

I made a video of my process, if that's something that suits your fancy.

You can find this and all of the Paper Issues current challenges in the January Challenges album in the Facebook Group. You have plenty of time to participate. Play along until February 2, for a chance to win a gift card to the Paper Issues Store. Shop the store using the code OrangeGearle for 20% off your purchase.

Thanks for stopping by today, and I will see you again soon! XO o.g.

..:: ribbon dancer ::..

Hi friends, I am a guest designer for Cheeky Studio and this is a layout that a made using items they sent me to try out! This particular layout was made using a lot of Cat Martin's Norwegian Wood collection. Here's my layout:

When I received my box of goodies in the mail, I did an unboxing video. I noticed that much of the items I received were autumn or fall collections. So, I challenged myself to make projects that looked more spring or summer, even though the products were fall! I think I did it!

I fussy cut some flowers from two different patterned papers. I also cut the white boarders off some of the die cuts so they would match.

I added some tangled thread a few places for a pop or two of color and texture.

I found these matching alphas in my stash -- I cannot believe how well they worked with this layout!

I made a video of my process if that's something that suits your fancy!

Thanks a lot to Cheeky Studio for sending me products and providing my readers/viewers with a discount code!

See you soon! XO o.g.

..:: colorful you ::..

Hi!  I'm back with another layout and a challenge for you! I am using the Clique Kits iNSD limited edition kit full of Cocoa Vanilla Studio's Happiness collection. Here is my layout:

I fussy cut those butterflies from a sheet of 12x12 paper in the kit. I love how it turned out!  Do you like the rainbow trend? Well, that's my challenge for you! Make a rainbow in some way on your layout and share it with us in The Clique FB group! Here are a few close ups.

I stitched through each of the butterflies with similar colored thread. I also used those threads behind the photo, just for fun pops of color.

This was supper fun to make!  I have a video of my process, if that's something that suits your fancy!

Thank you so much for stopping by!  See you again soon!  XO o.g.

..:: the meaning of you ::..

Hi friends! Just a note to let you know that I have a new video up on my YT channel and the Clique Kits YT channel. I am working with the April kit, Full Bloom. I love the mix of Vicki Boutin and Heidi Swapp.
 I did a bunch of fussy cutting and put together this pretty simple layout quickly and I love it!

 My goal was to tell the story of the meaning of Bea's name. :-)  So I chose a photo that is just "her" and got busy.

Here is the video of my process, if that's something that suits your fancy!

..:: gangsta ::..

Hi friends! Today I am sharing my most recent layout as a Clique Kit Ambassador. I am telling the story of my daughter's ability to always be on stage. 😀 We were eating out at one of our favorite restaurants and it was time to pay the bill. My One True Love took out a hundred dollar bill and B. thought that was amazing! She has been into wearing ties lately, and so as she was checking out the bill, she really looked like a gangster. When we mentioned that -- she began posing for the camera. Silly girl. I knew I needed to document that story. Also, that shirt COMPLETELY matches that blue paper.

The Clique Kits are fully of Maggie Holmes Flourish collection this month -- and there are many flowers and butterflies and other elements of nature. I really wanted to highlight her blue shirt and tie because it adds to the story so well, but I also wanted to contrast the gangster look with feminine elements -- so I was sure to add flowers and butterflies. Here are a couple of close ups:

..:: chucks ::..

Hi friends! Here to share my most recent assignment for Hip Kit Club -- and a process video.  My assignment this week was to use the Main Kit only. I am using the 2018 January Main kit for this layout.  I started with a gorgeous cut file by Kim Watson -- available under the cut files tab here

I decided to go big or go home with this one and I cut it out as big as possible.  Then I backed it with the rainbow Hip Kit Club Exclusive paper found in the main kit (also designed by Kim Watson). I cut the cut file into two parts so that I have it go off the edge of the paper on two sides.

I stitched around the flower cut file with several colors of floss -- and I love how that turned out!!!

To finish off the layout, I used the Hip Kit Club exclusive die cut ephemera -- and then fussy cut a few extra flowers from the opposite side of that rainbow paper. I also added a few black and white elements from the Vicki Boutin stickers included in the kit.

I also made a video of my process, if that suits your fancy.

Thanks for stopping by -- see you again soon!

..:: grand smiles ::..

Hi friends! Here today with a layout that I made for the Hip Kit Club this week.  My assignment this week was a product focus -- using the Paige Taylor Evans stamp set in the September Embellishment Kit.

I grabbed some coral ink by Hero Arts and stamped that flower about a 110x (give or take). And then I cut them out!

I used Tuscan Sun Shimmerz Spritz and Caribbean Sun Shimmerz Spritz (both from the September Color Kit) to create a background for my photo, and to anchor the flowers a bit.

I used both exclusive alpha (from the September Main kit and the Embellishment kit) for my title.

This was a super fun layout -- and I love how it turned out. I made a process video if that suits your fancy!

Thanks for stopping by and see you soon!
