..:: granny glasses ::..

Hi! I'm up on the A Flair For Buttons blog with this layout of my grandson stealing my glasses! I pulled inspiration from the colors in the photo and then found the perfect flair to go with it.  Here's my layout:

I also made a process video if that suits your fancy.

And a few close-ups:

I sprinkled a bunch of little flowers all over my layout. These are "posies" from Queen & Co, and I am in love with them!

I used flair from the Hello Life Flair Set, Family is Forever Flair Set, and Photo Bombed/Selfie Flair set.

Thanks for stopping by and see you soon!

..:: spring emerges ::..

Hi! I am up on the A Flair for Buttons blog today with a fun spring layout!

I used gelatos, mist, and watercolors for the background with a cut file from Just Nick. The patterned papers are mostly from Shimelle's Little by Little collection, along with some fussy cut butterflies from Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams collection.

The butterfly flair and the 'emerge' flair were perfect for this spring layout documenting spring's entrance in 2017.  Here are a few closeups.

I also made a process video if that suits your fancy!

Check out the {A Flair for Buttons } blog for more inspiring flair ideas.  Thanks for stopping by!

..:: just us together with all my heart ::..

Happy interNational Scrapbooking Day 2017! I am up on the A Flair For Buttons blog today with my first blogpost!

I used three pieces of flair for this layout, and I love each and every one! I used "Just Us" from the Family is Forever set because it fit the theme and color of this layout (and acts as part of my title)!

 By far my favorite piece is from the gorgeous LOVE Gold Foil Flair set!

I nestled this geometric heart into some gold thread. That heart is from the Black and Gold set.

I made a process video that is part of a video hop for National Scrapbooking day (if that suits your fancy).

..:: always sparkle girl ::..

Hello!  I am participating in a Product Spotlight over on the Paper Issues blog. This is my last project as a Paper Issues Design team member, but stick with me and keep reading because I have some happy scrappy news coming soon.  Either way, I am super thankful for the time I've had with Paper Issues, and I will continue to participate in their challenges and other goings on in the Paper Issues Friends and Fans group! And who knows, maybe I will be back as a design team member in the future.

We are spotlighting Doodle Bug's most recent collections. I am using the "girl" one called Fairy Tales for this layout of my daughter at the park.

Here are a couple of closeups!

Love this flair from A Flair for Buttons. Like I said I have happy scrappy news.  I am now on the Design Team for A Flair for Buttons!  I have been a long time customer of Shelley's flair and I am super excited for this adventure!

 I made a process video if that suits your fancy!

Stay tuned on this blog and other social media for more important announcements coming in the future!

..:: introducing my new alien green kia soul ::..

It's a new issue over at Paper Issues and I got to play along! Here is my take on the challenge:

My car died (ugh), I got a new car (yeah)! I love the color, a ton. So I used it for this layout! 👍 I started with some stitching -- which I set up on my Silhouette Cameo. It made the holes for me and then I stitched for days. LOL  Added some Heidi Swapp Color Shine (in Citron) and a few black splatters.

I super heart that flair don't you???? Of course it's from A Flair for Buttons

Simple. Easy. Fun.  Check out all the details on the blog -- I hope you play along with the Put the Petal/Pedal to the Medal/Metal Challenge this month!

See you soon!

..:: flower behind ::..

Hi! Hope you are having a Happy Easter if that is something that you celebrate! I'm here today with a layout I made using items available in the April Scrapbook Circle Kit and some flair from A Flair For Buttons. I'm submitting this to their challenge this month that is all about metallics!  Here's my take on the challenge!

The story that I'm documenting today is all about my daughter, the song writer. B. has been using my typewriter (and sometimes her iPad) to type up songs that she has written. And they are actually pretty amazing. So for this layout, I wanted to document one of my favorites. I used it as the bulk of the journaling -- as you see below.

For the challenge I used a lot of copper foil fun! Pink fresh Studios Live On collection has these awesome alphas that are copper colored. There are also starts and asterisks on the alpha sheet! I added those throughout my wreath. For a closer look you can check out my process video, if that suits your fancy!

Here are a couple more close ups:

I did a lot of fussy cutting for this layout!

A layout isn't a layout without a little flair from A Flair For Buttons! For real. 😀

See you soon!

..:: first sign of spring ::..

Paper Issues is having an online crop this weekend!  I made this layout as part of one of the challenges -- scrap the first of something! Here are the details if you would like to participate in the challenges (it's free, it's going on all weekend, it's not too late, and there are fun prizes)!

I got my inspiration for this layout from the great Missy Whidden -- she did some similar title work and I thought it fit perfect for this layout!

I used mostly items from Paige Taylor Even's most recent collection for Pink Paislee -- Oh My Heart. I also added a couple of flair from my favorite etsy shop -- A Flair For Buttons. And finally all of those pretty little confetti stars are from Color Cast Designs.

Here are a few close ups!

I would love it if you would play along with use in the Paper Issues {Friends & Fans} Facebook group! Look for another layout or two coming soon!

:: lucky us ::

It's another Pinspire Me mood board over on the Paper Issues blog today and I played along!  Here is the inspiration:

And here's my take on it! I made a cut file on using the Silhouette software to mimic the black harts in the bottom row. Then I used the cut as a stencil. I used a blending tool and Hero Arts ombre inks to make the rainbow hearts.

A few close ups...

I used a some papers and embellishments from the Pink Paislee Moonstruck collection.

And this lovely flair from {a flair for buttons}!

All of these little sayings are from a 12x12 piece in the collection that has 2x2 squares on it. Most of those squares have phrases on them -- I just cute out the phrases and placed them on hearts that are around the same color.

Stop over to the blog and check out the other inspiration from the Design Team -- and I'd love to see what you make.  Add your photos to the album in the Paper Issues Friends and Fans Facebook Group!

..:: crazy sock day ::..

It's time again to get out the mixed media materials for Mix It Up Monday over on the Paper Issues Blog!  The challenge this month: use stencils. If you are someone that has never used stencils before, just use them! If stencils are something that you do use, try using them in a different way. A few examples might be: use a stencil you make from a cut file, use mist, use acrylic paint, use water colors, use stamping ink, use texture paste, use the negative of the stencil, use the stencil as a stamp, etc.  Here's my take on the challenge:

I used stencils and ink pads for this layout! Here are a few close ups:

And finally I did create a short video of the technique I used, if that suits your fancy.

I hope you play along with us this month! Grab those stencils and get busy!

..:: Love Our View ::..

It's Product Spotlight time over at Paper Issues!  This week we are spotlighting Pink Paislee's Outfitters collection. Here's my take:

You just knew I was going to use that orange houndstooth paper, right? I love how it compliments these photos of a sunset that just keeps getting more intense. The colors in this collection are so rich, woodsy, and fabulous!  They would be perfect for capturing memories of camping, hiking, boating, or anything outdoorsy. These photos are from my own back yard!

I used the free cut file that I designed (available here) for some circles behind my photos (I previously used the same file as flowers, but who cares, right?). I also added some flair from {aflairforbuttons}.

Check out what the other members of the team created here and play along with us!

Need some Outfitters? Or just about anything else?  Grab what you need at the Paper Issues Store and use the code 'orangegearle' for 20% off your order!

Thanks for stopping by -- and another super exciting post is coming later today! Stay tuned....

:: hooray you ::

It's product spotlight time on the Paper Issues blog!  Today members of the design team are highlighting Simple Stories : Life in Color collection, and I just had to play along!

I started with some black and white pieces and then added some yellow and red -- colors I pulled directly from the photo.

I layered tissue paper and patterned papers behind the photo and I also added three flair buttons from {a flair for buttons} Black and White Words 1 flair.

Lots of layers and a few splashes of Heidi Swapp Color Shine and I was done! I loved working with this collection!

You can grab Simple Stories Life in Color and oh so much more at the Paper Issues Store.  Don't forget to use the code 'orangegearle' for 20% off your purchase!

:: what a BEAuty ::

Fun. Colorful. Used a lot of stuff.  Got to play.  #winning.

What a BEAuty (<<< see what I did there?).  Quite a bit of Amy Tangerine Finder's Keepers made it on to this layout. Amy Tan's stuff always matches that water color look, which I happen to completely dig.

Lots of layers, which mostly came from cards in SWAG bags, and I added a flair from {a flair for buttons} that matched perfectly (and reminds me to breathe, which is helpful).

The story is simple. It's about a girl, dressed like her favorite fairy, watching Batman (and sometimes, she is Batman -- mostly on the weekends).

A splash of color all over the background -- made by me, using gelatos. I love me some gelatos.

I'm sharing this one with the ladies over in the Paper Issues {friends & fans} Facebook group. They are really a fun group of peeps. Each month there are tons of challenges and ways to play along (and possibly win a gift card to the Paper Issues Store). I based this layout on the Scrap Lift Sunday challenge. Each Sunday a layout is posted, and we get to lift it! This past week's layout was create by PI girl Mary-Ann Maldonado.

Pop in and check out all the goings on! If your looking to purchase some of the new goodies in the Paper Issues Store -- don't forget to use the code 'orangegearle' for 20% off your purchase!
