Hello friends! I am back today with another day in my December Daily Album. I am also up on the {a flair for buttons} blog with this one. Here is my day 23 spread:
This two page spread looks like this when you flip the tag:
Here is a look at the flair I used on this layout:
It's a cardinal, and meant to represent those missing from our celebration. This flair is available in the Watercolor Winter Flair 3 set. Here is a look at my journaling:
I noticed a typo after I had already finished -- but I'm going to live with it. Here are a couple more close ups:
I'm so close to finishing this project! I made a video of my process, if that's something that suits your fancy!
Thanks for stopping by, and I will see you again soon! XO o.g.
Hi friends! I am up on the {a flair for buttons} blog today with a layout and process video for you. This might seem strange, but stick with me! I am using sloth flair in my December Daily album! Here is a look at Days 5 and 6 in my album.
Day 6 is all about my sloth wrapping paper! I have loved sloths for years, but apparently they are really popular right now -- and they are everywhere! So, I was super excited to fine sloth Christmas wrapping paper for this year! So, I thought I might as well use that sloth flair, right? Especially since Day 5 is about being so tired I went to bed with my daughter at 8:30. That's also sloth-ish, right? So, I added another sloth flair for that page! here is a closer look at Day 5.
I added my typed journaling below my photo and did some stitching around the photo. On Day 6 I used a big photo and kept it pretty simple with flair , a number, and a couple of enamel dots.
For my journaling on Day 6 I made a little pocket (between pages 6-7) to add my journaling on a tag that I made using my manual die cutting machine.
Here are a couple of close ups of the awesome flair from the Sloth Love Flair Set.
This two-day spread came together quickly and I love the 'non-Christmas" flair on this page! I made a video of my process, if that suits your fancy!
You can find process videos of my title page, and days 1-4 right here. Thank you so much for stopping by! I will see you again soon! XO o.g.
I started with white card stock. I added some gesso to toughen it up a bit and prime it for all the water I was about to use! Then I used a mixture of the packaging technique, some splattering and using a paint brush to add my Shimmerz paints. I used Vibez Jeni B Blue, and two Coloringz sprays -- No Yolking and Pretty in Pink.
I used items from Paige Evan's Whimsical collection for the bulk of my layout. I did a little fussy cutting for some of my embellishments, and added some of the gorgeous flowers as well.
The sunglasses and smile flair both came from the Summer Vibes Flair set and were PERFECT for this story!
I friends! I am up on the {a flair for buttons} blog today with a new layout using two pieces of flair and a bunch of Shimmerz Paint. Here is a look at my layout:
The Shimmerz Design Team were challenged to pick ONE COLOR and make it the focus color of the layout. I chose Vibez Sunset Strip. The gorgeous fall colors of the leaves in the photograph march the color perfectly! I also added a few splatters of Coloringz Night Moves and Vibez Jeni B Bleu. Here are a few close ups:
See that pretty yellow!? Did you know that you can order custom flair from {a flair for buttons}? You can! The "be present" flair was flair that I asked Shelley to make because it was my One Little Word a few years ago. I thought the idea of being present and noticing the beauty of fall made this the perfect flair for this project.
The flair above is from the Take a Picture 1 flair set. Once again, it's the perfect pop of color, and I think it's telling you to CHECK OUT THIS PHOTO! :-)
I added some stamping to this layout as well. To see exactly how I put this together, check out my process video, if that suits your fancy!
Thanks so much for stopping by! See you soon! XO o.g.
Hi friends! I am up on the {a flair for buttons} blog today with this super fun and colorful layout. You might think this is a spring layout -- but it actually all happened this fall. :-) We have had a lot of rain. And my daughter made the best of it, as usual. Here is my layout.
As you can see I used a ton of Shimmerz Paints on this one as well. It was so much fun to make! I actually used ten different Shimmerz products for this one! I started with this cut file from The Cut Shoppe and made my rain drops, then I added the paint and stitching. I found four pieces of flair (all from the Linen Hearts Flair set) that worked quite well with the Vicki Boutin ephemera pieces. I love how the stitching and color blocking worked out! Here are a few close ups:
I made a video of my process if that suits your fancy (the Shimmerz Products used are linked in the video comments as well).
Thank you so much for stopping by. Look for another layout and video SOON. XO o.g.
Hi friends! I am up on the {a flair for buttons} blog today with this layout I made using Shimmerz Paints, Hip Kit Club kit full of Maggie Holmes and Amy Tangerine, and flair from my favorite flair shop {a flair for buttons}! Here's what I came up with:
I started by creating my background using mostly the packaging technique and some Shimmerz Paints. I used Coloringz Oh Say Can U See, and two Creameez, Dandy-Lion and Great Fruit. They were perfect matches with both the Maggie Holmes and Amy Tan collections found in the Hip Kit this month.
Hi Friends! Have you ever scrapped a photo the day you took it? I did that with this photo of my grandson. And I'm going to be really honest and tell you that this photo will probably end up getting scrapped again, in color, with the 2-3 other photos that I took at the same time. :-)
For this layout I used a Shimmerz Creameez called Lettuce Get Together (it's definitely one of my favorite Creameez colors) and a NEW Shimmerz When Skies R Grey. I used the packaging technique and some splattering to create the background you see behind the photo. I used When Skies R Grey to paint a boarder around the right side. I also use some of the Lettuce Get Together to paint in some of the leaves on the left side. Here are a couple of close ups of the Shimmerz in action.
I used a piece of flair from {a flair for buttons} and added a few bits of sequins from Spiegelmom Scraps!
This is a traveler's notebook spread that I will add to a TN that I am working on that is bound by rings. The left side of my spread is a printable by The Cut Shoppe and it is called Endless Summer (shown above).
I also made a quick process video if that's something that suits your fancy!
Just a reminder when you make your next purchase from Shimmerz Paints, put my name in the comments and you will get a little surprise paint freebie with your order!
Thanks so much for stopping by, and I will see you again soon! XO o.g.
I am up on The Cut Shoppe blog and the A Flair for Buttons blog today with this back to school layout using photos of my daughter as she started second grade last year. It's almost time for her to enter third grade and I cannot believe it!! When I saw the Back to School cut file from The Cut Shoppe, I couldn't wait for this years pictures, I just had to use it right away! Here's what I came up with:
Here is the file -- I used it for stitching, but it can be used as a straight up cut file of course!
I also used this flair button from A Flair for Buttons. It is from the Hashtag Summer Flair set.
I love this flair set -- Hashtag Summer Flair -- I've used several of the pieces already -- and it provides the perfect pop of color (also, cool rhymes with school)!
I used some Pinkfresh Studio patterned papers and embellishments -- and some tangled thread for the win. I also got to try out some new Shimmerz -- Pip Pip Cherry-O, mainly for splatters -- and I love it! I made a video of my process if that's something that suits your fancy (I promise I don't make you watch all that stitching)!
Thanks so much for stopping by -- I will see you again soon! XO o.g.
