..:: maybe it's maybelline ::..

Hi friends! I am up on The Cut Shoppe blog today with this layout using the Floral Frames cut file designed by Ashley Horton. I chose papers and embellishments from Pink Paislee's Whimsical collection this is what I ended up with:

Here's a look at the cut file:

 So, once I cut the file and started playing with the papers and my photo, I decided that I didn't want the flowers in a frame, but I loved the flowers -- so I fussy cut them! Once I did that, it came together pretty quickly! Here are a few close ups:

I showed my One True Love the photo of our daughter and said, "Title please," and he immediately responded, "Maybe It's Maybelline", which was perfection!

I dug out an earlier Paige Evans collection (Oh My Heart) for the lipstick that I fussy cut from a 12x12 sheet of patterned paper.  That was the perfect touch!

I loved working with this cut file and I cannot wait to cut it again and use it as a frame!  I made a video of my process if that's something that suits your fancy!

Thanks so much for stopping by, see you again soon!  XO o.g.

..:: do what makes your soul happy ::..

Hello! I am up on the {a flair for buttons} blog today with this layout using a few of my favorite things -- paper, Shimmerz Paint, and AFFB flair!  Here's a look:

I started with white card stock. I added some gesso to toughen it up a bit and prime it for all the water I was about to use! Then I used a mixture of the packaging technique, some splattering and using a paint brush to add my Shimmerz paints. I used Vibez Jeni B Blue, and two Coloringz sprays -- No Yolking and Pretty in Pink.

I used items from Paige Evan's Whimsical collection for the bulk of my layout. I did a little fussy cutting for some of my embellishments, and added some of the gorgeous flowers as well.

The sunglasses and smile flair both came from the Summer Vibes Flair set and were PERFECT for this story!

I also grabbed this "hello life" flair from the set of the same name.  The flair and sequins added the perfect pops of color for this page.

I also made a video of my process, if that suits your fancy!

..:: finally #bffsleepover ::..

Hi friends!  I'm here with another Hip Kit Club DT layout. This layout is using the main kit only, and my first LO using September kits. My assignment was stitching -- and boy did I use stitching!

For this layout I used pattern papers from Paige Taylor Evan's Turn the Page collection by Pink Paislee. I used Paper 8 as my background paper and Paper 12 for the border and to make part of my title. I cut the word "FINALLY" freehand and then stitched around it using embroidery floss.

I used several pieces of ephemera from the ephemera pack included in the kit (also from Turn the Page). And of course some thread from my stash for a few more pops of color.

I love the exclusive alphas this month. They are beautiful! And not one piece of chipboard is wasted because there are all these colorful hearts, dots, stars, and asterisks included with those alphas. I used a few of the hearts around my page, too.

Lots of machine stitching with blue and gold to finish it off.

I made a process video if that suits your fancy!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

..:: hey you ::..

Hi friends! I am up on the Scrapbook Circle blog today with this DT Choice layout using the June Sunshine Days Kit!  I loved working with this kit! Check out the SBC blog for the details of how I put this together, but here are a few photos of my finished layout!

..:: first sign of spring ::..

Paper Issues is having an online crop this weekend!  I made this layout as part of one of the challenges -- scrap the first of something! Here are the details if you would like to participate in the challenges (it's free, it's going on all weekend, it's not too late, and there are fun prizes)!

I got my inspiration for this layout from the great Missy Whidden -- she did some similar title work and I thought it fit perfect for this layout!

I used mostly items from Paige Taylor Even's most recent collection for Pink Paislee -- Oh My Heart. I also added a couple of flair from my favorite etsy shop -- A Flair For Buttons. And finally all of those pretty little confetti stars are from Color Cast Designs.

Here are a few close ups!

I would love it if you would play along with use in the Paper Issues {Friends & Fans} Facebook group! Look for another layout or two coming soon!

:: lucky us ::

It's another Pinspire Me mood board over on the Paper Issues blog today and I played along!  Here is the inspiration:

And here's my take on it! I made a cut file on using the Silhouette software to mimic the black harts in the bottom row. Then I used the cut as a stencil. I used a blending tool and Hero Arts ombre inks to make the rainbow hearts.

A few close ups...

I used a some papers and embellishments from the Pink Paislee Moonstruck collection.

And this lovely flair from {a flair for buttons}!

All of these little sayings are from a 12x12 piece in the collection that has 2x2 squares on it. Most of those squares have phrases on them -- I just cute out the phrases and placed them on hearts that are around the same color.

Stop over to the blog and check out the other inspiration from the Design Team -- and I'd love to see what you make.  Add your photos to the album in the Paper Issues Friends and Fans Facebook Group!

:: fantastic ::

Hi!  It's Round 2 of the latest issues at Paper Issues and I got to play along. Here is my take on the theme this month.

This month is all about the Unbe-leafable Great Outdoors! I chose this photo of my daughter outside with cattails. She was so excited about them! Here are a few suggestion about how to play along:
  • Share your projects about fall, camping, hiking, back to school, etc.
  • Use leaves or outdoor items as embellishments.
  • Show us those cute back to school photos of your kiddos, grandchildren, even yourself.
Details on how to play along on the Paper Issues Blog today! I can't wait to see what you share with us!

..:: Love Our View ::..

It's Product Spotlight time over at Paper Issues!  This week we are spotlighting Pink Paislee's Outfitters collection. Here's my take:

You just knew I was going to use that orange houndstooth paper, right? I love how it compliments these photos of a sunset that just keeps getting more intense. The colors in this collection are so rich, woodsy, and fabulous!  They would be perfect for capturing memories of camping, hiking, boating, or anything outdoorsy. These photos are from my own back yard!

I used the free cut file that I designed (available here) for some circles behind my photos (I previously used the same file as flowers, but who cares, right?). I also added some flair from {aflairforbuttons}.

Check out what the other members of the team created here and play along with us!

Need some Outfitters? Or just about anything else?  Grab what you need at the Paper Issues Store and use the code 'orangegearle' for 20% off your order!

Thanks for stopping by -- and another super exciting post is coming later today! Stay tuned....

:: hot rod lincoln ::

Hellooooooo!  I'm up on the Paper Issues Blog today as part of the Cut It Up features!  I got to use this awesome free cut file (found here, in the Paper Issues Store). I paired the cut file with some white card stock and Pink Paislee's Fancy Free collection!

This photo of my daughter was meant to be scrapped! We went out to eat and this car was parked in the parking lot. My One True Love went to take a photo of the car and B. said, "WAIT!" and then posed. Seriously silly girl.

I love these triangles!  And that ombre paper is awesome behind it! I typed up just a little bit of journaling that ended with the title.

I have seriously loved using all of the products from the Fancy Free collection, but I think the die cuts are my favorite.  Or maybe the 6x6 pad.  Or maybe it's the patterned papers....or the 12x12 chipboard elements.  Ok. I love it ALL.

There are tons of fun things in the shop right now such as the latest Swag Bag, items from Lawn Fawn and Photo Play and much much more.  While you are grabbing that free cut file, if you find a few more things thrown in your cart -- don't forget to use the code 'orangegearle' for 20% off your purchase!

:: embrace the glam life ::

Hi! It's time for another Mix It Up Monday challenge at Paper Issues. Let's do this thing:

I took this photo of my daughter in the car on our way to the doctor's office, where she tested positive for Influenza A. Even though she wasn't feeling well, she looked so beautiful, and those glasses made me giggle.

When I received my Paper Issues order with the Fancy Free collection I was immediately inspired by the papers and flowers and made this cut file of wonky flowers (free to you)!

This layout started a bit differently than it ended, and I ran into a few bumps along the way -- but I made a process video in case you would like to see how it came to be.

I love how this layout turned out, and I have already made another using the Fancy Free collection! Grab it here, or any of your other paper needs in the Paper Issues Store. Don't forget to use the code 'orangegearle' for 20% off your entire purchase!

:: queen for the day ::

Have you been playing along with the Paper Issues Spring Crop (click link for details)?  There are all kinds of challenges, and even more fun.  And did I mention that there are Gift Cards to the Paper Issues Store up for grabs?

My challenge -- Bling me up Scotty -- is to put a little bling on that thing!

My bling is lots of gold, some Color Shine, sequins and glitter!  Check out what everyone is talking about by clicking on this link and joining the Paper Issues {Friends and Fans} Facebook group so you can play along!

I used items from Pink Paislee's C'est La Vie collection and some bits from Maggie Holme's (Crate Paper) Bloom collections.  Get either of those and so much more from the Paper Issues Store and use the code 'orangegearle' for 20% off your entire purchase!

:: joyful breeze ::

Up on the Paper Issues blog today with a C'est La Vie (Pink Paislee) product spotlight!

This one came together rather quickly! It's just a basic grid pattern with little bits of stickers and paper throughout the LO to bring it all together.

I layered these frames, added some puffy stickers, and then some embroidery thread wrapped around the frame for some extra texture.

I really like how this one turned out. Those giant letters are just awesome! Pick up some C'est La Vie in the shop -- and check out the latest, new goodies, too! Use the code 'orangegearle' for 20% off your purchase!

Thanks for stopping by!

:: mad hatter ::

It's Pinspire Me Monday on the Paper Issues blog and I love this challenge! Here's my take:

This photo shows off my daughters crazy personality. She's reading her assigned reading (which isn't always her favorite thing). She spiced it up a bit on this night -- she came out with two hats on, sunglasses, and a cape! Love these moments captured.

Here is the Pinspiration that Leah came up with to inspire us this month.

Don't you love it!  I saw all that black and white with pops of aqua and red, and then boom!

Here are a couple of close ups:

I started with papers from Pink Paislee's Memorandum collection, added in some Crate Paper's After Dark.  Of course I used some watered down gelato in the back ground. :-)

These days a layout isn't complete without at least one (or two, or three) flair buttons from {a flair for buttons}.
