..:: beautiful you ::..

Hi friends! I am up on The Cut Shoppe blog and the {a flair for buttons} blog with this layout of my daughter. Today I am using the Beautiful You cut file. I cut the file using white card stock. I intended to use white letters, on my blue background, but then an accident happened, and I really liked the accident!  When I set the negative down on my paper, I had to go with it! Here is my layout :

Here's another look at the file in use:

Since my daughter's name is Bea, I thought it was the perfect file to use with a pic of her looking her BEAutiful self. I also liked the idea of backing the BEA with a different color. :-) I used a punch to punch out different sizes of butterflies to add as embellishment. I also added some awesome flair from {a flair for buttons}, of course!

This flair (above) is from the More Lovely Words 1 flair set. I love the blue flower.

The "dream" sentiment on the above flair was perfect -- with little pops of blue. Both the dream flair and the flair below are from the Lovely Words 2 flair set.

Bea had been in the sun the whole weekend, and looked so brown! So that is what I journaled about!

I made a video of my process, if that's something that suits your fancy!

Thank you so much for stopping by! See you again soon! XO o.g.

..:: younique ::..

Hi friends!  I am up on The Cut Shoppe blog today with this layout using a new cut file called Pretty as a Peacock.

Here's a look a the cut file:

I cut the file using white card stock.  Then, in the Silhouette software I did a "release compound path" witch allowed me to move the pieces around or delete portions of the file.  I did a second cut but this time I only cut the inside of the feathers, and I used two different pattern papers. I glued the inside feathers right down to the background paper, but I used foam to pop up the white card stock.

The inside of the feathers are my favorite part.....except I also really like the body of the peacock!!!

Who know I would use that peacock paper?  It was perfect for his body don't you think??

I added a few phrase stickers from Tim Holtz that talk about being beautiful, different, and creative.  Unique. 😀

I bit of tangled thread placed for extra pops of color and called it done!  I made a video of my process if that suits your fancy!

Thanks for stopping by! XO o.g.

..:: hey guys ? ::..

Hi! I am up on The Cut Shoppe blog today with a layout using the pretty Flower Power 12x12 background cut file. This is a photo of my daughter in the hotel swimming pool -- one of her favorite things ever.  And my story is all about her obsession. Here is a look at the layout:

Here is the cut file:

For this layout I am using mostly items from Amy Tangerine's Sunshine & Good Times collection (from a while ago)!  I love it when I get to use up some of my stash.   I actually used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the file twice -- once I cut it as is for the white card stock. Then I used my Silhouette software to take out all of the middle parts so it would just cut the outside of the flowers -- this made it super easy to back it! Here's are a few close ups:

I started out with a white card stock background. I thought I might put some mixed media behind the area where the photos is --- and then I got carried away. :-)  I ended up with a full mixed media background behind the files. I used several sprays from Shimmerz Paints and a couple distress inks by Ranger Inks.  I used some foam to pop the whole cut file.

I fussy cut some butterflies and added some flair and tangled thread for the win! The flair is from the Watercolor Hearts and Flowers flair set available at the {a flair for buttons} etsy store. I also made a video of my process, if that suits your fancy!

Thanks for stopping by! XO o.g.

..:: maybe it's maybelline ::..

Hi friends! I am up on The Cut Shoppe blog today with this layout using the Floral Frames cut file designed by Ashley Horton. I chose papers and embellishments from Pink Paislee's Whimsical collection this is what I ended up with:

Here's a look at the cut file:

 So, once I cut the file and started playing with the papers and my photo, I decided that I didn't want the flowers in a frame, but I loved the flowers -- so I fussy cut them! Once I did that, it came together pretty quickly! Here are a few close ups:

I showed my One True Love the photo of our daughter and said, "Title please," and he immediately responded, "Maybe It's Maybelline", which was perfection!

I dug out an earlier Paige Evans collection (Oh My Heart) for the lipstick that I fussy cut from a 12x12 sheet of patterned paper.  That was the perfect touch!

I loved working with this cut file and I cannot wait to cut it again and use it as a frame!  I made a video of my process if that's something that suits your fancy!

Thanks so much for stopping by, see you again soon!  XO o.g.

..:: december daily ::..

Hi friends! I am up on The Cut Shoppe blog today with Days 3 & 4 of my December Daily 2018. Here is a look at this two page spread:

For Day 3 I used the "You'll Shoot Your Eye Out Kid" from the Merry Movies cut file.

I cut the file using white card stock and then I backed it with patterned paper. I used the same paper to back the file that is on my other page -- this helped tie the two pages together.

For my journaling I did journal strips on Day 3 and tucked a tag behind my phone on Day 4. I have really enjoyed adding more of the story to this project!

I am using a lot of papers and embellishments from Crate Paper's Merry Days collection that I received in my Clique Kits Holiday Hipster Kit.  I have also added embellishments from Color Cast Designs throughout this project.  This is such a fun project! So far I have made a process video of each day as I go. I am adding them to this playlist if you'd like to see more.

So, of course, I made video of my process for this spread, if that's something that suits your fancy!

Thank you so much for stopping by, and I will see you again soon! XO o.g.

..:: mug shot ::..

Hello friends! I am up on the The Cut Shoppe blog today my first Holiday layout of the season!  However, it's not really a holiday layout it's about friendship and coffee -- featuring the red cups that we all know and love!

I used a couple of different files included in the Jave Script cut file. I also had my Silhouette cameo cut hole so I could stitch around the title -- and while I was at it -- I used the Silhouette software to write my journaling. I used the sketch pen feature of the Cameo to write right on the layout!  Here are some close ups:

I used some older Elle's Studio from my stash, the red card is an exclusive card from Clique Kits, and that lovely flair is from a set  called Donut Love 2 from {a flair for buttons}!

I made a video of my process, if that suits your fancy!

Thank you so much for stopping by, see you again soon! :-) XO o.g.

..:: summer sensation ::..

Hi Friends! I am up on The Cut Shoppe blog today with this layout featuring my grandson:

I used the Indian Summer cut file -- but it wasn't an "Indian Summer" story -- so I just covered up the word "Indian" with my photos! Here is a look at the cut file:

I backed the leaves with patterned papers that had a lot of green in them. These are all from  Amy Tangerine's Sunshine and Good Times collection. I also used a yellow ampersand paper from the same collection to back the word 'summer'.

For my background I added some Shimmerz Paints using the packaging technique. I took color inspiration from the photo and the patterned papers.

I added some tangled thread throughout the layout for pops of color. I used yellow and a peachy salmon color.  I also used a piece of flair from {A Flair for Buttons} -- The Summer Vibes Flair set.

Most of my embellishments came from Pinkfresh Studio's Be You collection. The colors matched perfectly!

This was a fun one to make. I'm so glad I got this story told!  Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon! XO o.g.

..:: all at once ::..

Hi Friends! I am up on The Cut Shoppe Blog today with a new layout in my traveler's notebook.

For this layout I used the Falling for You TN cut file.

I have a couple of favorite fall quotes, and The Cut Shoppe has them both covered (my other favorite can be found here).

I started with some fall papers, but I ended up accidentally seeing this photo with that pink and yellow and I had to go bright and colorful! So for most of this layout I am using Field Notes by Vicki Bouton. Here's a closer look at the cut file:

I backed the pumpkin and leaves with patterned paper from the collection as well. I also fussy cut some circles out of the same paper.

This whole TN will eventually be a "right now" and so my quotes are going to be about living in the moment and embracing positive life (and least that's where I'm headed so far)! 😀

This was a fun and quick layout to make -- and I like how it turned out! Thanks so much for stopping by! XO o.g.

..:: pumpkin brains ::..

Hi Friends! I am up on The Cut Shoppe Blog today with this layout using a couple of cut files from the Etsy Store.

For this layout I used some navy blue card stock to cut the Pumpkin Carving cut file. Then I backed it with patterned papers. Here's a look at the cut file.

For the title I used a font on my computer to cut "pumpkin" and then the Super Star Alpha from The Cut Shoppe for the word BRAINS.

Here are a few close ups of the cut files!

I was super excited when I found the perfect piece of flair from A Flair For Buttons. Doesn't this match her shirt perfectly?

I used mostly the Goosebumps collection designed by Ashley Horton for Pretty Little Studio. But I also used a few items from Paige Taylor Evan's Take Me Away Collection (for those pops of purple).

I had a fun time creating this layout. I also made a video of my process if that suits your fancy!

Thank you so much for stopping by, and I'll see you again soon!
