..:: making memories with my tribe ::..

I friends, up with my second post of the day! :-)  This is a layout I made as an Ambassador for Clique Kits, and I am using the June Kit - Horizon. There is a Project Sheet on the website highlighting this layout. You can find that here. Here is my layout:

So have you ever had one of those pictures that you had to scrap as soon as you took it?  This was one of those!  This is a photo of my daughter and two grandsons playing with Play-doh this past weekend. The colors in the photo and these papers were perfectly meant for each other!

I used the acrylic word "memories" for part of my title, and I free hand cut the word "making" using one of the patterned papers included in the kit.

I finished off my title using a phrase from the June Printable and the word "with" from the Pretty Little Studio phrase stickers included in the kit.

I added tons of florals behind, on, and around my photo, and some sequins to complete my layout.

I made a video of my process, if that's something that suits your fancy!

Thank you so much for stopping by! See you again soon! XO o.g.

:: celebrate it's your birthday :: free flower cut file

The free April cut file is live on the Paper Issues Blog! Aren't these flowers cute? I shrunk down the file to make this card for my mom!

I started with white card stock and Gelatos to make the background.  As soon as it was dry I cut the file.

We are having a ton of fun in the Paper Issues {Friends & Fans} Facebook group. We just started a new round of #iSpyWithPI.  Check out all the fun and play along!

:: happy & blessed ::

I absolutely love Sketchy Saturday at Paper Issues. It's one of my most favorite projects to work on!  This month was no exception! I decided to use Simple Stories Pumpkin Spice collection for this layout about picking out our pumpkin this year!

Here is a look at Becki Adams's fabulous layout (I love the fall layout with non-traditional colors), and the sketch based on the layout.

There is still plenty of time to play along!  Check out this blogpost for details and how you can win (or be featured on IG or Facebook). I am also linking this layout up to the current issue on the Paper Issues blog -- Let Me Expresso My Gratitude.

There is so much awesome in the Paper Issues Store right now!  Check it out, grab some fun, and don't forget to use the code 'orangegearle' for 20% off your purchase!

Have a great Thanksgiving! See you soon!

:: New Issue Monday at Paper Issues ::

I've said it before, and I will likely say it again -- New Issue Monday's make me giddy. Always. For this current issue the Paper Issues Girls received product from Color Cast Designs to play with. I got to play with the Embellish Me (Neutral) set and here is what I came up with!

When I initially laid out all the product, I did so in a grid.  So I went with it! I love the black, white, grey and wood veneer combo.  I ended up sticking with the black and white -- and I grabbed the Just Add Color collection from Bella Blvd. I did exactly as I was told -- I just added color. :-) I grabbed my watercolors and painted some flowers and a border. When all was said and done, I thought the painted flower paper took a bit too much away from the photos, so I sewed some vellum over the top!

Check out what Jana, Jennifer, Tarrah, Becky and Lisa made and the prize you could win by participating here.

Check out all the new goodies in the Paper Issues Store!  Don't forget to use the code orangegearle for 20% off your entire purchase (also, did you know that if you spend $60, there are no shipping costs??)!

:: park love ::

I'm up on the Paper Issues blog today!!!  Woot woot! I never get tired of saying that!  I'm lucky to be a PI girl! Paper Issues is my online happy place.

There have been a zillion new things coming in to the Paper Issues store, and I buy all the things, so I grabbed the Color Chaos collection from Bella and got to work!  These photos are of my daughter's first park visit of the year! I love the bright & happy colors in this collection and I extra love how they worked with the photos!

To get in a little more fun, I made 5 of the 6 squares on the layout flip up to reveal either journaling, another photo, or just some fun papers and embellishments. I did this by using a cut file that I made in the Silhouette software.  Because I love you, that file is available to you for free here.  Here are a few photos of the flaps closed, and then opened:

(don't you love that shaker!!!! vellum + sewing + embellishment + sequins + fun)

 If you are interested in the Color Chaos collection (or just about anything else) I bet Paper Issues has it!  And rumor has it that there are a few more Swag Bags left!  Grab what you need (including the free cut file) and use the code orangegearle at checkout for  20% off your entire purchase!
