..:: hello lucius & bea ::..

Hello friends! I pulled out some Shimmerz mists, Color Cast Designs August release items, some A Flair for Buttons Flair, and some Maggie Holmes Carousel for my latest layout!  I feel so lucky to be able to work with these products!

For the background, I used Oh Say Can You Sea, and Well Blue Me Down, (Coloringz Products) and the packaging technique to create a space for my photos and embellishments to sit. I also splattered using the same products and  Night Moves (also Coloringz) to add a little more visual texture to the page.

This ampersand! One of my favorites from the Color Cast Designs recent release -- they are perfection! And this color. OMGoodness. I can't even. I also through in some of the heart confetti in the same color.

A layout cannot be complete without some flair from A Flair for Buttons. This layout was all about these two cousins always finding fun together. Shelley always has the perfect flair for any occasion. 😀

Happy Announcement

Hi friends! I am over the moon excited to to announce that I am part of the Hip Kit Club Design Team! I cannot believe I get to create with the amazing Hip Kits and along side these lovely ladies!

Eeeek! Look at that!  ^^^^^  Here is one of the layouts I created for the Design Team call. I used a HKC sketch and the July 2017 Hip Kit and color kit, which included some Shimmerz products! I also added a few pieces of confetti from Color Cast Designs because I couldn't resist. :-)

Look for my first official Hip Kit Club DT projects and videos to start posting next week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon.

..:: sweet treat shenanigans ::..

I am up on the {A Flair for Buttons} blog today with another layout using a few of my favorite things. Flair, color cast designs creations, and shimmers paints... I was able to use them all on this summery layout!

I started with some new paints that I got from Shimmerz Paints! I used my palette knife and three colors of paint to make my background. I pulled colors from the photo to begin with and then used AcriToneZ Orange You Glad, along with Tree Hugger and Raspberry Sorbet (both Paste-Eez). Once my background was on, I found two pieces of flair from the Hello Spring Flair Set that matched perfectly!

I was also able to use several pieces (old and newer) from Color Cast Designs for my title and embellishments. I love they mix of color and wood veneer.

If you are following me on IG (and if you aren't, why aren't you?), you probably already know that I am on all three design teams -- Shimmerz Paints, Color Cast Designs, and A Flair for Buttons. I am so blessed to be able to work with these gorgeous products!

Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you real soon!

..:: wild thing ::..

Hi everyone! I am up on the {a flair for buttons} blog and IG with a fun layout for you using, flair from AFFB's Black and Gold Set and the Black and White Words 2 Set, and some yummy products from Color Cast Designs (old and new)!

I pulled the colors from the photo -- her skirt and bike are salmon-ish, and those Mine Craft sunglasses are purple (her favorite color). And I just happened to have some Color Cast products, thread and washi to help pull those colors out. I found two pieces of flair from the Black and Gold set that I thought worked really well to help add pops of black and white, and also added to the story.

I am in love with this acrylic and wood veneer set from Color Cast Design's July release. I am not really a big fan of purple, but this is just gorgeous and I loved working with it and the star confetti from July -- I also threw in some salmon and light blue confetti from past releases.

This arrow flair is from the Black and White Words 2 set and it helped to bring the focus to my story and help move the eyes around the page. I totally love how it looks with the black and white text paper from Amy Tangerine's latest colloction.

I also used Sketchy Saturday sketch from Paper Issues, you can find that here.

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

..:: splish splash summer fun ::..

I am up on the {A Flair For Buttons} blog today with this layout using AFFB flair and bunch of Color Cast Designs Goodies. Over the 4th of July weekend we did a little traveling and stayed overnight at a hotel for a couple of nights. My daughter was determined to swim across the pool -- even through the deep end. She practiced and practiced and she did it. So, this story had to be documented and wouldn't you know it? The perfect flair is available in the {A Flair For Buttons} store!

I soon as I saw this flair in the shop I knew that I would use it on a layout with a blue pool picture and some blue and aqua mixed media in the background! I was just waiting for the right story! Then when I saw the Color Cast Designs June releases, I just had to have this and this and these and these to make this layout happen!

SplishSplashSummerTimeHearts

I used one piece of flair and the Splish Splash acrylic phrase for my title -- it was perfect for this layout and the story. The waves in the background were made using a free cut file from The Paper Issues Store.

And could this Pool Time flair be any more perfect?  I don't think so!  I sprinkled some more hearts and stars from Color Cast Designs to create a cluster!

I absolutely love these interlocking hearts! So thankful to get this story told.

I made a video of my process if that suits your fancy!

:: my true north ::

It's a new issue on the Paper Issues blog -- and I got to play along!

The issue, Let's Get Knot-ical. is a great theme for this time of year.  Some suggested theme ideas: anything you can do on the water; use a compass on your project, ship's wheel, sailboat or ocean creatures as embellishments; add knots to your project; beach vacation, Father's Day, etc.

I used a compass to fit the theme. This layout is all about my One True Love, my True North.

I used products from Pink Fresh Studios for most of my layout, along with some Tim Holtz phrase stickers and watercolors, of course!

:: New Issue Monday at Paper Issues ::

I've said it before, and I will likely say it again -- New Issue Monday's make me giddy. Always. For this current issue the Paper Issues Girls received product from Color Cast Designs to play with. I got to play with the Embellish Me (Neutral) set and here is what I came up with!

When I initially laid out all the product, I did so in a grid.  So I went with it! I love the black, white, grey and wood veneer combo.  I ended up sticking with the black and white -- and I grabbed the Just Add Color collection from Bella Blvd. I did exactly as I was told -- I just added color. :-) I grabbed my watercolors and painted some flowers and a border. When all was said and done, I thought the painted flower paper took a bit too much away from the photos, so I sewed some vellum over the top!

Check out what Jana, Jennifer, Tarrah, Becky and Lisa made and the prize you could win by participating here.

Check out all the new goodies in the Paper Issues Store!  Don't forget to use the code orangegearle for 20% off your entire purchase (also, did you know that if you spend $60, there are no shipping costs??)!
