..:: one little word ::..

Hello friends! I am participating in Ali Edward's One Little Word again this year. I have chosen a word each year for quite a few years, and I have never finished all the prompts and ended the year with a documented word. No regrets, I've gotten something good out of each word!  This year I decided to document my word using a traveler's notebook, similar to my December Daily. Also similar, I am going to create videos of my process and share them on my youtube channel and other social media. It is my hope that this will be the thing that helps me stick with the documentation.

Today I am sharing two videos on my You Tube channel. The first video I am actually in front of the camera for a bit and I explain my reason for the videos. I show how I've organized my supplies, and then I move into the process of creating my cover and title page. Here is a look:

My cover is from Color Cast Designs, and I've added items from the main OLW kit.

And here is the video of my process:

Once I got that taken  care of I got busy on the prompts. Here are the pages:

I stamped sunbursts all over the page & added some enamel dots to some of the centers.  Then, I used a red lightbulb flair from {a flair for buttons} in the center, with a sticker that says, "illuminate".

Love that thought. Illuminate.

I made a pocket with the "January" card from the main kit and a card from the light kit is on the back. In side the pocket are two cards back to back. One side is my reason why, and the other side is a decorative card.

This is the back of the pocket.

I used a 3x8 page protector for the cards included with the main kit, and to work through the January prompt.

I made a flip out on the page protector so that I could add a couple of extra cards without adding all the space of another 3x8.

I used some new Heidi Swapp Color Fresh papers and washi to create an flip out insert to house the deeper journaling.

To see more details of my process, check out this process video, if that suits your fancy!

Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon! XO o.g.

..:: hey guys ? ::..

Hi! I am up on The Cut Shoppe blog today with a layout using the pretty Flower Power 12x12 background cut file. This is a photo of my daughter in the hotel swimming pool -- one of her favorite things ever.  And my story is all about her obsession. Here is a look at the layout:

Here is the cut file:

For this layout I am using mostly items from Amy Tangerine's Sunshine & Good Times collection (from a while ago)!  I love it when I get to use up some of my stash.   I actually used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the file twice -- once I cut it as is for the white card stock. Then I used my Silhouette software to take out all of the middle parts so it would just cut the outside of the flowers -- this made it super easy to back it! Here's are a few close ups:

I started out with a white card stock background. I thought I might put some mixed media behind the area where the photos is --- and then I got carried away. :-)  I ended up with a full mixed media background behind the files. I used several sprays from Shimmerz Paints and a couple distress inks by Ranger Inks.  I used some foam to pop the whole cut file.

I fussy cut some butterflies and added some flair and tangled thread for the win! The flair is from the Watercolor Hearts and Flowers flair set available at the {a flair for buttons} etsy store. I also made a video of my process, if that suits your fancy!

..:: december daily day 23 ::..

Hello friends! I am back today with another day in my December Daily Album. I am also up on the {a flair for buttons} blog with this one. Here is my day 23 spread:

This two page spread looks like this when you flip the tag:

Here is a look at the flair I used on this layout:

It's a cardinal, and meant to represent those missing from our celebration. This flair is available in the Watercolor Winter Flair 3 set. Here is a look at my journaling:

I noticed a typo after I had already finished -- but I'm going to live with it.  Here are a couple more  close ups:

I'm so close to finishing this project! I made a video of my process, if that's something that suits your fancy!

Thanks for stopping by, and I will see you again soon!  XO o.g.

..:: maybe it's maybelline ::..

Hi friends! I am up on The Cut Shoppe blog today with this layout using the Floral Frames cut file designed by Ashley Horton. I chose papers and embellishments from Pink Paislee's Whimsical collection this is what I ended up with:

Here's a look at the cut file:

 So, once I cut the file and started playing with the papers and my photo, I decided that I didn't want the flowers in a frame, but I loved the flowers -- so I fussy cut them! Once I did that, it came together pretty quickly! Here are a few close ups:

I showed my One True Love the photo of our daughter and said, "Title please," and he immediately responded, "Maybe It's Maybelline", which was perfection!

I dug out an earlier Paige Evans collection (Oh My Heart) for the lipstick that I fussy cut from a 12x12 sheet of patterned paper.  That was the perfect touch!

I loved working with this cut file and I cannot wait to cut it again and use it as a frame!  I made a video of my process if that's something that suits your fancy!

Thanks so much for stopping by, see you again soon!  XO o.g.

..:: december daily ::..

Hi friends! I am up on The Cut Shoppe blog today with Days 3 & 4 of my December Daily 2018. Here is a look at this two page spread:

For Day 3 I used the "You'll Shoot Your Eye Out Kid" from the Merry Movies cut file.

I cut the file using white card stock and then I backed it with patterned paper. I used the same paper to back the file that is on my other page -- this helped tie the two pages together.

For my journaling I did journal strips on Day 3 and tucked a tag behind my phone on Day 4. I have really enjoyed adding more of the story to this project!

I am using a lot of papers and embellishments from Crate Paper's Merry Days collection that I received in my Clique Kits Holiday Hipster Kit.  I have also added embellishments from Color Cast Designs throughout this project.  This is such a fun project! So far I have made a process video of each day as I go. I am adding them to this playlist if you'd like to see more.

So, of course, I made video of my process for this spread, if that's something that suits your fancy!

Thank you so much for stopping by, and I will see you again soon! XO o.g.
