Hi friends! I am hosting a challenge over in The Cut Shoppe Scrap Spot on facebook. This month we are "thinking spring" and using a cut file that reminds us of the elusive spring. :-) See details at the link. Here is my layout using the Oodles of Doodles cut file!
Here is a look at the cut file:
And here are a few close ups:
I used papers and embellishments from PinkFresh Studio's Everyday Musings collection.
I also made a video of my process if that suits your fancy!
Thanks for stopping by! See you again soon! XO o.g.
Hi friends! I am up on The Cut Shoppe blog and the {a flair for buttons} blog with this layout of my daughter. Today I am using the Beautiful You cut file. I cut the file using white card stock. I intended to use white letters, on my blue background, but then an accident happened, and I really liked the accident! When I set the negative down on my paper, I had to go with it! Here is my layout :
Since my daughter's name is Bea, I thought it was the perfect file to use with a pic of her looking her BEAutiful self. I also liked the idea of backing the BEA with a different color. :-) I used a punch to punch out different sizes of butterflies to add as embellishment. I also added some awesome flair from {a flair for buttons}, of course!
The "dream" sentiment on the above flair was perfect -- with little pops of blue. Both the dream flair and the flair below are from the Lovely Words 2 flair set.
Bea had been in the sun the whole weekend, and looked so brown! So that is what I journaled about!
I made a video of my process, if that's something that suits your fancy!
Thank you so much for stopping by! See you again soon! XO o.g.
Hi Friends! Happy Valentine's Day! We are celebrating over at The Cut Shoppe! Here is my contribution:
This is layout in my "Right Now" Traveler's Notebook. My plan is to fill it with things that bring me joy! This photo certainly does that! The cut file I used is one of several cut files found on the Working Title cut file available here.
For this layout I am using items from the May 2018 Clique Kit which was full of PinkFresh Studio Be You and Let Your Heart Decide collections. The background paper is a 12x12 that I cut to size. I backed the heart of this cut file, with a coordinating floral paper.
I love all of the rose gold elements in this collection! I added some matching thread behind the cut file and a few other places for pops of that color. The eyelets on this banner, and the twin also have that same metallic color.
See that face?? Serious love for that face. I added the date and some tabs behind the photo -- more tangled thread for the win.
I also made a video of my process, if that's something that suits your fancy!
The Cut Shoppe is having a bit of a celebratory sale! Use the code BeMine50 to save 50% through the weekend. :-)
Thanks for stopping by! See you again soon! XO o.g.
I cut the file using white card stock. Then, in the Silhouette software I did a "release compound path" witch allowed me to move the pieces around or delete portions of the file. I did a second cut but this time I only cut the inside of the feathers, and I used two different pattern papers. I glued the inside feathers right down to the background paper, but I used foam to pop up the white card stock.
The inside of the feathers are my favorite part.....except I also really like the body of the peacock!!!
Who know I would use that peacock paper? It was perfect for his body don't you think??
I added a few phrase stickers from Tim Holtz that talk about being beautiful, different, and creative. Unique. 😀
I bit of tangled thread placed for extra pops of color and called it done! I made a video of my process if that suits your fancy!
Hi! I am up on The Cut Shoppe blog today with a layout using the pretty Flower Power 12x12 background cut file. This is a photo of my daughter in the hotel swimming pool -- one of her favorite things ever. And my story is all about her obsession. Here is a look at the layout:
Here is the cut file:
For this layout I am using mostly items from Amy Tangerine's Sunshine & Good Times collection (from a while ago)! I love it when I get to use up some of my stash. I actually used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the file twice -- once I cut it as is for the white card stock. Then I used my Silhouette software to take out all of the middle parts so it would just cut the outside of the flowers -- this made it super easy to back it! Here's are a few close ups:
I started out with a white card stock background. I thought I might put some mixed media behind the area where the photos is --- and then I got carried away. :-) I ended up with a full mixed media background behind the files. I used several sprays from Shimmerz Paints and a couple distress inks by Ranger Inks. I used some foam to pop the whole cut file.
I fussy cut some butterflies and added some flair and tangled thread for the win! The flair is from the Watercolor Hearts and Flowers flair set available at the {a flair for buttons} etsy store. I also made a video of my process, if that suits your fancy!
Hi friends! I am up on The Cut Shoppe blog today with this layout using the Floral Frames cut file designed by Ashley Horton. I chose papers and embellishments from Pink Paislee's Whimsical collection this is what I ended up with:
Here's a look at the cut file:
So, once I cut the file and started playing with the papers and my photo, I decided that I didn't want the flowers in a frame, but I loved the flowers -- so I fussy cut them! Once I did that, it came together pretty quickly! Here are a few close ups:
I showed my One True Love the photo of our daughter and said, "Title please," and he immediately responded, "Maybe It's Maybelline", which was perfection!
I dug out an earlier Paige Evans collection (Oh My Heart) for the lipstick that I fussy cut from a 12x12 sheet of patterned paper. That was the perfect touch!
I loved working with this cut file and I cannot wait to cut it again and use it as a frame! I made a video of my process if that's something that suits your fancy!
Thanks so much for stopping by, see you again soon! XO o.g.
Hi friends! I am up on The Cut Shoppe blog today with Days 3 & 4 of my December Daily 2018. Here is a look at this two page spread:
For Day 3 I used the "You'll Shoot Your Eye Out Kid" from the Merry Movies cut file.
I cut the file using white card stock and then I backed it with patterned paper. I used the same paper to back the file that is on my other page -- this helped tie the two pages together.
For my journaling I did journal strips on Day 3 and tucked a tag behind my phone on Day 4. I have really enjoyed adding more of the story to this project!
I am using a lot of papers and embellishments from Crate Paper's Merry Days collection that I received in my Clique Kits Holiday Hipster Kit. I have also added embellishments from Color Cast Designs throughout this project. This is such a fun project! So far I have made a process video of each day as I go. I am adding them to this playlist if you'd like to see more.
So, of course, I made video of my process for this spread, if that's something that suits your fancy!
Thank you so much for stopping by, and I will see you again soon! XO o.g.
Hello friends! I am up on the The Cut Shoppe blog today my first Holiday layout of the season! However, it's not really a holiday layout it's about friendship and coffee -- featuring the red cups that we all know and love!
I used a couple of different files included in the Jave Script cut file. I also had my Silhouette cameo cut hole so I could stitch around the title -- and while I was at it -- I used the Silhouette software to write my journaling. I used the sketch pen feature of the Cameo to write right on the layout! Here are some close ups:
I used some older Elle's Studio from my stash, the red card is an exclusive card from Clique Kits, and that lovely flair is from a set called Donut Love 2 from {a flair for buttons}!
I made a video of my process, if that suits your fancy!
Thank you so much for stopping by, see you again soon! :-) XO o.g.
