..:: be a fruit loop in a world full of cheerios ::..

Happy Fourth of July, friends!  I am up on the Scrapbook Circle blog today with a layout that is not fitting the theme of the day at all, but it is a fun one!  My challenge this week was to use the Dear Lizzy Phrase Thickers (found in the July kit -- Smile More) in a unique way. I decided that since I usually use these phrases as part (or all) of a title, to be different, I wouldn't use them as a title on this layout. Instead I used them for EVERYTHING ELSE! In fact, I used almost the whole package on this one layout!  Here's what I came up with:

My title is "Be a Fruit Loop in a World Full of Cheerios", which fits this snap chat photo perfectly, no? That phrase is from the Vicki Boutin water color sticker book found in the July embellishment add-on kit. I used several other phrases from that sticker book throughout the layout. Some of them I painted and others I left white. Each little square has a phrase that tells how to be a fruit loop. 😄😄

Here are a few close ups:

 This was a really fun layout to make!  Thanks for stopping by. See you soon!

..:: bea & maia ::..

I am up on the {A Flair for Buttons} blog today with this layout about my daughter meeting her new best friend.  I used Pebbles Girl Squad collection, that I got here at the Paper Issues Store. There are quite a few pieces of ephemera and stickers that have metallic gold in them, so I grabbed a few flair from my A Flair For Buttons stash and got busy!

The story of these two is pretty amazing. They met and within moments they were joined at the hip. They are such creative, free spirits that in was instant bonding. So fun to watch them! Maia's mom and I exchanged contact information at the girls' insistence, and a long distance friendship was born! I have a feeling there may be more layouts about these two in my future. 😀

Here are a few close-ups of the gorgeous gold flair! I used flair from the Summer Gold Flair and Love Gold Flair sets.

..:: granny glasses ::..

Hi! I'm up on the A Flair For Buttons blog with this layout of my grandson stealing my glasses! I pulled inspiration from the colors in the photo and then found the perfect flair to go with it.  Here's my layout:

I also made a process video if that suits your fancy.

And a few close-ups:

I sprinkled a bunch of little flowers all over my layout. These are "posies" from Queen & Co, and I am in love with them!

I used flair from the Hello Life Flair Set, Family is Forever Flair Set, and Photo Bombed/Selfie Flair set.

Thanks for stopping by and see you soon!

..:: nature: a love story ::..

Hello!  I am up on the Scrapbook Circle blog with this layout that I made using the 2017 May kit - Take Note. My assignment was to use the exclusive cork hearts in a unique way. I chose to use one of them as part of my title in this layout that documents my daughter's love of nature.

I used my Silhouette Cameo to poke holes in white card stock so that I could easily hand stitch the word "Nature". I set it up in the Silhouette Studio software using the Bebas font, keeping in mind exactly where I wanted it on the page.  Then after it cut the holes for me, I stitched using black embroidery floss.

I used watercolors to paint inside the lines that I stitched. I grabbed color inspiration from the patterned papers and embellishments  that I chose from this month's kit.

I did a little fussy cutting of the flowers from the Webster's Pages patterned paper and added some bits from the Elle's Studio Live Laugh Love bits and pieces included in the kit.

My title was completed with the "love" cork heart, and the acrylic word "story". I added just a little bit of journaling and this simple, but fun page, was complete!

Check out how Kelly used the cork hearts by visiting the Scrapbook Circle blog today!

..:: spring emerges ::..

Hi! I am up on the A Flair for Buttons blog today with a fun spring layout!

I used gelatos, mist, and watercolors for the background with a cut file from Just Nick. The patterned papers are mostly from Shimelle's Little by Little collection, along with some fussy cut butterflies from Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams collection.

The butterfly flair and the 'emerge' flair were perfect for this spring layout documenting spring's entrance in 2017.  Here are a few closeups.

I also made a process video if that suits your fancy!

Check out the {A Flair for Buttons } blog for more inspiring flair ideas.  Thanks for stopping by!

..:: new shades ::..

Hi friends! Hope you are having a fantastic Mother's Day! I'm up on the Scrapbook Circle blog today with this DT Choice layout using the May Scrapbook Circle Kit - Take Note.

My color inspiration came from the yellows, greens, and pinks (especially the yellows) in the PinkFresh Sudio diecuts and alphas (both in the This is Magic Add-on this month). I grabbed a bunch of circle items from the die cut packs in the main kit, too. Then I used a circle punch and a confetti punch to punch a few more circles from the patterned papers to create a line of circles on the right side of my page.

Stitching, paint splatters, and tangled thread pulled it all together. Here are a few close ups:

..:: gimmie some knucks ::..

I am up on the Scrapbook Circle blog today with a new layout using the May Scrapbook Circle Kit and Printable.

I used the Pinkfresh Studio alpha for "gimmie some" and then cut the word "knocks" freehand from patterned paper. Then to help "Knucks" stand out better I added some hand stitching around the letters.

I used the printable card that says "I love you because..." behind my photo as a layer. I was also inspired by the words for my journaling.

I also added some machine stitching for a final touch to this monochromatic layout about my daughter's silliness.

I made a process video if that suits your fancy!

..:: just us together with all my heart ::..

Happy interNational Scrapbooking Day 2017! I am up on the A Flair For Buttons blog today with my first blogpost!

I used three pieces of flair for this layout, and I love each and every one! I used "Just Us" from the Family is Forever set because it fit the theme and color of this layout (and acts as part of my title)!

 By far my favorite piece is from the gorgeous LOVE Gold Foil Flair set!

I nestled this geometric heart into some gold thread. That heart is from the Black and Gold set.

I made a process video that is part of a video hop for National Scrapbooking day (if that suits your fancy).

..:: live, laugh, love ::..

I am so happy to announce that I have my first layout up on the Scrapbook Circle Blog as part of the Design Team!  I have had a ton of fun creating with the May Kit - Take Note. For this layout I also used a few elements from the Pinkfresh Studio Live More Phrase Stickers, which are in the May Add On Kit - Here We Go. Here is my first "Be Real" post on the blog -- these are about every day "real" moments.

I started with Heidi Swapp's beautiful "Blushed" paper from her Magnolia Jane collection. It was so beautiful and water color-y, I didn't even use any mixed media on this layout! For my title I used a tag from the Elle's Studio Bits and Pieces included in the main kit. I used many other bits and pieces as well!  The photo was taken by My One True Love out at his parent's house. Grandpa is pushing B. in the swing, very high. 😀 It was such a spring moment, that I thought florals were in order.

And guess what?  There are florals in the kit. I just had to fussy cut that Dear Lizzy paper, and I love the Webster's Pages floral paper!

Yes, This.  So happy to get another story documented.

I am super excited to be a part of the Scrapbook Circle Team. I can't wait to show you all of the other projects I have already made from this kit!  Stay tuned!

Also.....Tomorrow is NSD!  Make sure you come back for a little something something tomorrow! :-)
