..:: first hug ::..

Hi Friends! I am up on the Pretty Little Studio blog today with a layout using the new Frosty collection!  Here is a look at my project:

When I opened the Sugar Cookies die cut pack I saw so many circles!!  Then I opened the Fuzzy Socks die cut pack and saw some more! When I saw the one in the latter pack that says "Big Hugs" I realized what I had to do -- make even more circles!

I grabbed a lot of the die cut circles, and then grabbed my circle punches and some of the 6x8 pattered papers in the collection.

As always, I punched a few butterflies from the papers to add around the page.

I knew I wanted a bit of journaling so I printed that out on my printer and cut it into journal strips to tell the story of my daughter and my mom hugging for the first time in over a year.

 Such a happy story to tell, and what a beautiful collection with which to document it!  Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon! XO o.g.

..:: rainbow eyes ::..

Hello friends! I am up on the Pretty Little Studio blog today with this layout using the Chasing the Sun collection. I love this bright, fun collection and it always makes me think of the tropics!  This photo was taken in the winter, but I love how the colors of the collection work perfectly with this photo of my daughter. She was playing with make up and made her eyes "rainbow". Here is a look at the layout:

I used the sunset words die cuts to find the right letters for "eyes".  There are some words in the die cuts that I will likely not use, so I don't feel badly about splitting them up to make something new.

I love the flowers in this collection!  Most of these came from the Blooms die cuts.

It was really fun to work with this collection again. The colors are so beautiful. Thanks for stopping by and I will see you again soon!  XO o.g.

..:: our joy ::..

Hello Friends!  I am up on the Paper Issues Blog today with a layout for you using today's sketch! I absolutely love all of the sketches that Paper Issues has -- and the FREE cut files. I used the Stitching Star Galaxy cut file for this layout:

Here is the sketch that I was inspired by:

Like I said, I started with the cut file and grabbed Cocoa Vanilla Studio's Merry and Bright collection! This photo isn't really a Christmas photo -- but it was taken during the season -- any chance to use this beautiful collection -- I'm taking it!

I fussy cut the letters J-O-Y from one of the 12x12 patterned papers, and added some Nuvo drops to the letters and across the page just for a little extra.

I made a video of my process if that's something that suits your fancy:

What a fun challenge! You can find this and all of our current challenges in the December Challenges album in our Facebook Group. You have plenty of time to participate. Play along until January 3 for a chance to win a gift card to the Paper Issues Store. Shop the store using the code OrangeGearle for 20% off your purchase.

Thanks for stopping by and I will see you again soon! XO o.g.
