..:: laugh & dream ::..

Hi friends! I'm here to share this week's assignment (and my last assignment) for Hip Kit Club. My final week I got to do my most favorite thing -- play with mixed media!  Here's my layout:

And here are a few close ups:

As you can see I used bright colors and added some white heat embossing over the top...

...some layers and thread...

...and a few embellishments for the win.

I also made a process video, if that suits your fancy!

Thanks for stopping by! See you again soon!

..:: mj live ::..

Hi friends! I am here to share my most recent layout for Hip Kit Club -- a Mixed Media Monday layout using the February 2018 kits!  Here is my layout:

This is a fun layout about taking my daughter and her BFF to the MJ Live concert in Chicago. They had so much fun! It was a secret! In fact, when this photo was taken they still didn't know what was going on, OR why we thought they should wear their MJ gear. :-)  Here are a few close ups:

I used the Dina Wakley acrylic paint to add some color to my background. Also, I did some stitching and added embellishments from this month's kits.

I made a video of my process, if that suits your fancy!

..:: fabulous girl ::..

Hi friends!  I'm sharing another layout that I made using the September Hip Kits and a free cut file by Jessica Fabiano.  My assignment this week had a focus on the Mixed Media Kit, and was part of the Mixed Media Monday blogpost on the Hip Kit Club Blog.

I started with some of the Shimmerz Tuscan Sun Spritz included in the Mixed Media Kit. I saturated the bottom half of the white card stock and then applied some salt while it was still wet. The salt reacts with the paint and changes the look. You get something that looks like this:

I also added some splatters of the Tuscan Sun Spritz as well as the Caribbean Sunset Spritz to add just a touch more texture.

I backed the flower cut file with paper from Paige Taylor Evans Turn the Page collection (paper 2) and I just love how that looks!

Tangled thread and more splatters for the win. But don't take my word for it! Check out my process video if that suits your fancy!
