..:: you make me happy when skies are gray ::..

Hi friends! I am up on the Scrapbook Circle blog with my last project for them. I'm sad to see the kits stop, but I'm looking forward to seeing what Lisa has in store for us next!

For this layout I used the "happy" acrylic word, and I spray painted it orange! :-) I laid out the rest of the title in my Silhouette software and cut it out, I backed the whole layout with the corrugated, navy blue card stock. I like how it makes the words pop!

Since I was using so many polka dots, I decided I didn't want to use the cork shapes as hexagons, so I got out my 1 inch circle punch and made them circles! I painted a few of the circle Vicki Boutin stickers orange, for a few pops of orange, a popped them off the page with pop dots.

I really like how this turned out! I had such a fun time working with the Scrapbook Circle kits!

Thanks for stopping by! Come back soon!

..:: fine little day for lemonade ::..

I am up on the Scrapbook Circle Blog today with this layout I made using the July Smile More kit as well as the July Hug More Add-on kit from Scrapbook Circle.

I challenged myself to use the Vicki Boutin bookmarks on a layout instead of in my planner and I love how it turned out!

I have loved working with the Scrapbook Circle kits this month!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

..:: first library card ::..

I am up on the Scrapbook Circle Blog today with this layout using the July Smile More main kit and add-ons. I had a lot of fun documenting my daughter's first library card acquisition! 😀

Here are a few close ups:

I have really enjoyed working with this kit and I ended up with four very different looking layouts, all from the same kit!  I love it when it works out that way!

Thanks for stopping by!

..:: nature: a love story ::..

Hello!  I am up on the Scrapbook Circle blog with this layout that I made using the 2017 May kit - Take Note. My assignment was to use the exclusive cork hearts in a unique way. I chose to use one of them as part of my title in this layout that documents my daughter's love of nature.

I used my Silhouette Cameo to poke holes in white card stock so that I could easily hand stitch the word "Nature". I set it up in the Silhouette Studio software using the Bebas font, keeping in mind exactly where I wanted it on the page.  Then after it cut the holes for me, I stitched using black embroidery floss.

I used watercolors to paint inside the lines that I stitched. I grabbed color inspiration from the patterned papers and embellishments  that I chose from this month's kit.

I did a little fussy cutting of the flowers from the Webster's Pages patterned paper and added some bits from the Elle's Studio Live Laugh Love bits and pieces included in the kit.

My title was completed with the "love" cork heart, and the acrylic word "story". I added just a little bit of journaling and this simple, but fun page, was complete!

Check out how Kelly used the cork hearts by visiting the Scrapbook Circle blog today!

Thanks for stopping by. See you soon!

..:: gimmie some knucks ::..

I am up on the Scrapbook Circle blog today with a new layout using the May Scrapbook Circle Kit and Printable.

I used the Pinkfresh Studio alpha for "gimmie some" and then cut the word "knocks" freehand from patterned paper. Then to help "Knucks" stand out better I added some hand stitching around the letters.

I used the printable card that says "I love you because..." behind my photo as a layer. I was also inspired by the words for my journaling.

I also added some machine stitching for a final touch to this monochromatic layout about my daughter's silliness.

I made a process video if that suits your fancy!

Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon!

..:: live, laugh, love ::..

I am so happy to announce that I have my first layout up on the Scrapbook Circle Blog as part of the Design Team!  I have had a ton of fun creating with the May Kit - Take Note. For this layout I also used a few elements from the Pinkfresh Studio Live More Phrase Stickers, which are in the May Add On Kit - Here We Go. Here is my first "Be Real" post on the blog -- these are about every day "real" moments.

I started with Heidi Swapp's beautiful "Blushed" paper from her Magnolia Jane collection. It was so beautiful and water color-y, I didn't even use any mixed media on this layout! For my title I used a tag from the Elle's Studio Bits and Pieces included in the main kit. I used many other bits and pieces as well!  The photo was taken by My One True Love out at his parent's house. Grandpa is pushing B. in the swing, very high. 😀 It was such a spring moment, that I thought florals were in order.

And guess what?  There are florals in the kit. I just had to fussy cut that Dear Lizzy paper, and I love the Webster's Pages floral paper!

Yes, This.  So happy to get another story documented.

I am super excited to be a part of the Scrapbook Circle Team. I can't wait to show you all of the other projects I have already made from this kit!  Stay tuned!

Also.....Tomorrow is NSD!  Make sure you come back for a little something something tomorrow! :-)

Thanks for stopping by!

:: hello ::

It's new issue Monday over on the Paper Issues blog!  This issue is sponsored by Scrapbook Circle, so I spent some time with their March Kit!  Details below about how you can participate and win a kit for yourself!

The theme is "Prints Charming's Beautiful Papers", and aren't these papers fabulously beautiful?! I just love the bokeh background patterned paper by Webster's Pages!! I used this free cut file from Paper Issues to make the star confetti.  This photo is of my daughter and I making a sand castle (actually it turned out to be a shamrock sand castle)!

I've been a little addicted to vellum lately -- and so I used a bit down the center to tone down the pattern just a little…and of course, machine stitching nearly always makes it onto the page!

See that bow? It opens up to reveal another photo, and the journaling (typed on vellum).

Would you like to play along for a chance to win this awesome kit (I only scratched the surface, there are several more layouts I will make with this kit, trust me)!?  Here are the details (and check the link to see what the other DT members made):

Prints Charming's Beautiful Papers: charms, prints of all kinds, subway art, Disney trips, castles, stamping, animal and paw prints, pets, animals, princes and princesses, dress up, use your favorite patterned papers, especially the ones you've been hoarding. Go ahead, cut into them and showcase them so you can enjoy them and document a memory, use Scrapbook Circle kits

Can't wait to see what you make! See you soon!

:: too hot for blading ::

Today is my last post as a Guest Designer at Scrapbook Circle.  If you are a follower of my blog you know how much I love these kits!  I am so honored that I was asked to be on the GDT this month, and, as always, I have really enjoyed working with this kit!  Each month I am amazed at how beautifully Lisa (et. al) pulls together these papers and embellies to make a perfect kit!

This month a two pager was born!  (I haven't done these for a while, but I have done a few lately)! We celebrated my daughter's birthday (the second celebration) with my extended family on the hottest weekend of the summer!  B. got some great gifts; among them, roller blades!  We practiced a bit at Grandma and Grandpa's house (they are the ones that purchased the skates) and then after returning home, she practiced a bit more!  IT WAS SO HOT!  We even had to have a clothing change in between skating because there was a bunch of water play in between!

The challenge at Scrapbook Circle was all about stitching!  So. Awesome. that I was asked to do that!  I love stitching, as you know. So I got out my machine and stitched all around the page.

But, to live up the challenge I also did a bit of hand stitching!  Here are a few more close ups (and they include a lot of GOLD; I am so loving this trend)!

I would like to thank Lisa and Tessa at Scrapbook Circle for welcoming me in to the Scrapbook Circle Family this month!  I had a great time!!!!

Until next time!  :-) O.G.

:: sharing secrets ::

Hi!  I'm on the Scrapbook Circle blog today with a new layout using the Here + There September kit!

A. (our neighbor) and B. enjoyed so much outside time together this summer!  On this particular day, I caught them telling secrets and giggling with each other while having a coloring party on the blanket in our yard.

There were so many awesome GOLD goodies in the kit this month, including these Scallop Boarders from Pinkfresh Studio!

I love that the phrase, "We Have the Best Stories" was included on the My Minds Eye Market Street stickers (in the "This Place" September add on kit).  It fit this story so perfectly!

Until next time…..
