.:: be my valenslime ::..

Hi friends! I'm here to share my most recent assignment for Hip Kit Club. This week it was all about love and hearts! I was able to work with the sketch this week too. Here is my take on the sketch using the February 2018 Hip Kit Club Kits.

And here is the sketch:

I used two photos instead of one, and the stars became hearts, but I think it still remains pretty true to the sketch. I think I used every kind of heart! It was kinda fun. Here are a few close ups:

I loved putting together this layout about the fun we had making Valentine's day slime for her friends.  I made a process video if that suits your fancy.

..:: finally #bffsleepover ::..

Hi friends!  I'm here with another Hip Kit Club DT layout. This layout is using the main kit only, and my first LO using September kits. My assignment was stitching -- and boy did I use stitching!

For this layout I used pattern papers from Paige Taylor Evan's Turn the Page collection by Pink Paislee. I used Paper 8 as my background paper and Paper 12 for the border and to make part of my title. I cut the word "FINALLY" freehand and then stitched around it using embroidery floss.

I used several pieces of ephemera from the ephemera pack included in the kit (also from Turn the Page). And of course some thread from my stash for a few more pops of color.

I love the exclusive alphas this month. They are beautiful! And not one piece of chipboard is wasted because there are all these colorful hearts, dots, stars, and asterisks included with those alphas. I used a few of the hearts around my page, too.

Lots of machine stitching with blue and gold to finish it off.

I made a process video if that suits your fancy!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

:: jumpin' puddles ::

Hello friends!  Today I'm here with a layout that created using mostly Pink Paislee : Citrus Bliss, and AC Dear Lizzy : Fine & Dandy.  These collections go together beautifully and I love the springy-summery feel of them!

The right side of my layout is actually a scrap lift! More on that below! Our B. had been playing in all the puddles in our back yard and we captured a zillion photos (in fact, enough that there will probably be another layout in the future that contains a separate part of today's story). There were so many good ones, that I almost immediately printed them off, grabbed some new(er) patterned papers and got busy!

The hearts are from the Dear Lizzy Fine & Dandy collection.  There was a whole sheet of them! I cut out what I needed for this project, but I've used more of that paper in other projects.  I love it!   In fact, the "b" side of that paper is the polka dot paper you see on the bottom half of this page!

To tie the two pages together I did a few things; I took the hearts all across the second page, the patterned papers from the left side are on the very edge of the right side too, and those little bright strips of paper are on both sides.  I am really digging how this one turned out!

The right page is actually a scrap lift of a layout that fellow Paper Issues DT member, .Jana McCarthy  did.  It was the layout that all of the awesome people in the Paper Issues Friends and Family group (PIFF) on Facebook scrap-lifted a couple of weeks ago.  Are you part of the PIFF group?  If you are on Facebook, you should join us, we are a ton of fun!  (click link above)   :-)

Here are a couple of close ups of my LO.

:: TIME :: amy tangerine product feature

It's time for another product feature on the Paper Issues blog!  Today we are using Amy Tangerine's Rise & Shine Collection!

The story that I am documenting today is about the passage of time.  The photos of B. with the binky were taken two years ago at Morgan Creek park.  The other photos were taken this year at the same park, climbing the same fence.  The park is a go to place for us, and apparently climbing the fence is a favorite (but if you follow my blog and stories of B. you know that climbing anything has always been a favorite)!

The templates for the cut file came from an Ali Edwards story kit, and when I saw all the lovely colors and patterns in this collection, I knew I wanted to use them with this cut file! So. Yummy.

I added stitching and I journaled around the biggest circle.

The layout wouldn't be complete without a flair from {aflairforbuttons}! I used a piece of flair from this batch.

Seriously loved working with these patterned papers!
