Hi! Orange Gearle here with a layout for the Touchy Feely Challenge over in the Paper Issues {Friends & Fans} Facebook page. For this challenge you are to use a lot of TEXTURE (like texture paste, textured paper, mesh, fabric, ribbon, etc).  I decided to add texture by stitching with my machine, adding pop dots, and lots of tangled thread throughout the page. Here's a look at my take on this challenge:

I used the Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolor set that is available in the store, here, to create the stripes of color behind the photo, and then stitched after it was dry. This is what all that stitching looks like up close:

As you can see, I popped all those little bits up off the page and added tangled thread under the photos. All of those little bits are from Amy Tangerine's Picnic in the Park Collection that is also available in the Paper Issues store here

Here is the story, and a few close ups:

..:: number four ::..

Hello Friends! I am up on the Paper Issues Blog today with a layout I made for the Piece of Cake Challenge over in the Paper Issues {Friends & Fans} facebook group! For this layout I chose to use Amy Tangerine's Picnic in the  Park collection and some photos of my daughter's birthday cake from 2013!  Here is a look at my project:

B. said she wanted a Batman Rainbow cake. So she got it. I cannot believe I haven't ever scrapped these photos. She was very into making silly faces at the time.  Here are a few close ups:

 I love working with a basic grid design! I used lots of papers to layer behind my photos -- I was going for ALL THE COLOR!  Rainbows everywhere!

I made a video of my process, if that's something that suits your fancy!

..:: mas margaritas ::..

Hi!  I am up on the {a flair for buttons} blog today with a layout for you featuring several pieces of flair from the {a flair for buttons} etsy shop!  Here is a look at my layout:

I used three pieces of flair from two different flair sets.

This striped flair went perfectly with all the rainbow stripes on my layout. I found this piece in the Take a Picture 1 Flair set.  The two pieces below were obviously perfect for my subject matter, and found in the Tropical Vacation 2 flair set. I must admit, I chose my papers based on the margarita flair!

This story was all about going to a new restaurant in town to celebrate a family birthday. I used Amy Tangerine's Slice of Life collection for this layout and a journal spot from the ephemera pack to help tell this story.

I also made a video of my process if that's something that suits your fancy!

..:: cheap trick ::..

Hello!  I am up on the A Flair for Buttons blog with a layout using some beautiful black and white flair from three different flair sets!  I used Amy Tangerine's Slice of Life collection that I purchased at Paper Issues (use the code OrangeGearle for 20% off you purchase). Here is my layout :

I started this layout by typing up my journaling in the Silhouette software. Then I had my Cameo print the journaling on white card stock using a sketch pen. I knew I wanted to tell a longer story for this one, so I incorporated it into the design of the page.

This story is about an experience at a Cheap Trick concert, so the notes in the Rock On 3 Flair were perfect for this layout. I also loved the idea of the black and white, so I grabbed a couple of other black and white pieces, too.

I layered some papers from the 6x6 paper pad behind my photo and popped the photos up with craft foam. I put the other two pieces of flair on either side to create a visual triangle on the page.

This flair came from the Bright Triangle Flair set.

This piece came from the Brave Soul Flair set. I love this piece so much!!

Finally I added a few colorful pieces of patterned paper in strips at the bottom, a boarder at the top with a piece of 12x12 paper from the collection, a few bits of thread, some stitching and splatters to finish it off. I just love layouts with black and white and pops of color!

I made a video of my process if that's something that suits your fancy!

Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon. XO o.g.

Hi friends!  I am up on The Cut Shoppe blog today with this layout using a new cut file called Pretty as a Peacock.

Here's a look a the cut file:

I cut the file using white card stock.  Then, in the Silhouette software I did a "release compound path" witch allowed me to move the pieces around or delete portions of the file.  I did a second cut but this time I only cut the inside of the feathers, and I used two different pattern papers. I glued the inside feathers right down to the background paper, but I used foam to pop up the white card stock.

The inside of the feathers are my favorite part.....except I also really like the body of the peacock!!!

Who know I would use that peacock paper?  It was perfect for his body don't you think??

I added a few phrase stickers from Tim Holtz that talk about being beautiful, different, and creative.  Unique. 😀

I bit of tangled thread placed for extra pops of color and called it done!  I made a video of my process if that suits your fancy!

Thanks for stopping by! XO o.g.

..:: hey guys ? ::..

Hi! I am up on The Cut Shoppe blog today with a layout using the pretty Flower Power 12x12 background cut file. This is a photo of my daughter in the hotel swimming pool -- one of her favorite things ever.  And my story is all about her obsession. Here is a look at the layout:

Here is the cut file:

For this layout I am using mostly items from Amy Tangerine's Sunshine & Good Times collection (from a while ago)!  I love it when I get to use up some of my stash.   I actually used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the file twice -- once I cut it as is for the white card stock. Then I used my Silhouette software to take out all of the middle parts so it would just cut the outside of the flowers -- this made it super easy to back it! Here's are a few close ups:

I started out with a white card stock background. I thought I might put some mixed media behind the area where the photos is --- and then I got carried away. :-)  I ended up with a full mixed media background behind the files. I used several sprays from Shimmerz Paints and a couple distress inks by Ranger Inks.  I used some foam to pop the whole cut file.

I fussy cut some butterflies and added some flair and tangled thread for the win! The flair is from the Watercolor Hearts and Flowers flair set available at the {a flair for buttons} etsy store. I also made a video of my process, if that suits your fancy!

Thanks for stopping by! XO o.g.

..:: emerge ::..

Hi! I have a new layout using the November Clique Kit, Seneca Falls.  This kit is full of a bunch of Amy Tangerine's Shine On collection, and I love it!  Today I pulled a bunch of black and white papers and embellishments together and added some orange and aqua accents.  Here is my layout:

I used the Spread Your Wings cut file from The Cut Shoppe (available here) and cut it out of white card stock.  I added a bunch of layers behind my photos. Here are a few close ups:

Behind my photo I added tissue paper and some patterned paper from the 6x6 paper pad in the Shine On collection.

I added lots of layers of flowers -- from the die cuts, the stickers and the printable in the kit. Here are a couple more close ups.

I also made a video of my process if that's something that suits your fancy!

Thank you for stopping by! Tomorrow I will have another layout and video to share with you!

..:: unforgettable you ::..

Hi! I am up on The Cut Shoppe Blog today with this layout of our daughter a few years ago. She was so little!!

I started with the Untamed Heart cut file from The Cut Shoppe. Then I grabbed my November Clique Kits and got started! I backed the file with papers from the 6x6 pad of Amy Tangerine's Shine On collection (from The Clique Kits TN kit).

The papers are so colorful and pretty!  I didn't have to add too many things to complete the layout. I used the exclusive flair found in the main kit -- with a little tangled thread behind it! For my title I used a card that says, "Unforgettable" above the photo, and a tag below my photo houses the word "you".

I added some clusters of hearts around the edges -- where the cut file stops and the white card stock starts. All the hearts on this one!!

I also made a video of my process if that suits your fancy!

Thanks for stopping by and I will see you again really soon! XO o.g.
